With An Excited Ear To The Door!

Looking at Luke 12:35-40
vs. 36
" . . . be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks."
This life is a tiny bit of the beginning of eternity, Christ could come anytime to take us home.  Live that way!  Try not to become engrossed in what has already happened and fail to be open to what the LORD has ahead.  Be alert for the return of Christ.

It's Not About Me!

I was thinking today if we could all just "get over ourselves" the LORD would be able to get a lot more done in the Kingdom!

In Honor Giving Preference To One Another

...in honor giving preference to one another.
Romans 12:10

"The place where encouragement is most needed is the home, where our flaws are exposed and our selfishness is most likely to exert itself. But marriage works best when spouses are less selfish, more selfless, and when they understand that it's not about making themselves happy but about making the other happy--in honor preferring one another. It is God's plan, and it works!" -David Jeremiah

Made Me Giggle! ;)

Ha! ;) American pop culture is so pervasive and embarrassing! Just because they say it on tv doesn't mean everyone likes it! My 60 year old eye surgeon was instructing me about how to use the various antibiotic drops he was prescribing after my minor eye surgery the other day. Quite a classy guy, trying to make me feel at home as a foreigner-I appreciated him. Just when I thought he was finished he perked up with an, "oh and by the way (that's for you Fei Lin) when you get up in the night to pee, put them in again." You know, I don't think I've ever actually said that word out loud. ;) ;)

The Deeps

I have no master but Thee,
     no law but Thy will,
     no delight but Thyself,
no wealth but that Thou givest,
no good but that Thou blessest,
no peace but that Thou bestowest.
I am nothing but that Thou makest me,
I have nothing but that I receive from thee,
I can be nothing but that grace adorns me.

Quarry me deep, dear LORD,
and then fill me to overflowing with living water.

The Rumor

The effective and well practiced use of the rumor is one of the greatest tools of the enemy. Gently dropped properly at the right moment from the right lips, it effectively to stop ears, stops giving, stops prayer. It is to be defended against, it is to be deliberately rejected. I am conscious of this today especially as I fear too oft I have been the author and the victim.

Lord, forgive me. Lord, protect your work. Lord, enable me to recognize and deal with the wiles of the enemy especially as he would attack in this way.

Amen.
